I really like the triangle design of the 11x. It allows a fan to have room to create a pressurized pocket of air. Would like to see the reviews first though.

but it seems like you could get more area for the heat to dissipate if the shape was square

Well it kinda has to do with when you have a single push setup you get better performance if you put an air box in between the fan and the fins of the HS.
