Laptop
After putting off the purchase of one of these computers long enough I decided I am going to pick me up this one right HERE. I can't find any real reviews on this particular laptop but I am reading other manu's reviews that uses this same exact set up and the numbers look pretty good.
Any one ever mess with a Lenovo Laptop? I am rather strapped for cash so this fits perfectly in my price range.Mini Me...

attached to a review of the i5 version of that laptop. which didn't say it was crap but that it was rated below avg.novo: Lenovo Group Limited is China's largest and the world's fourth largest personal computer manufacturer. Lenovo produces desktops, laptops, servers, handheld computers, imaging equipment, and mobile phone handsets. Lenovo also provides information technology integration and support services, and its QDI unit offers contract manufacturing. Its executive headquarters are located in China and USA. It is incorporated in Hong Kong. Lenovo was formed in 1984 as a spin-off of the Chinese Academy of Sciences new technology unit. The company initially began as a reseller, distributor and later CM for foreign brands, including IBM, entering the Chinese market. In 1990, Lenovo started to manufacture its own PCs and by 1997 became the market leader in China. In 2004, Lenovo bought IBM’s PC business for $1.25billion. Market share regarding sales of personal computers in 2007 (market research IDC): HP 18.9 %, Dell 16.4 %, Acer 9.9 %, Lenovo 7.5 %, Apple 5.7 %

and several sites that give lame reviews, translated from (seeminly) chinese, that apper to be little more than ad pages set up to shill the product. one gives "ratings" of "high" for bench mark scores on several games. it di have 3dmark scores of 11xx for DX11 and 11xxx for dx10 don't remember the exact figures but I do know that was the range cause I thought it strange that the dx11 score was about 10% of the dx10
if you get it you should do a legitimate review of it.Last edited by Blacksmith1; 06-27-2011 at 12:00 AM.

Here is the review I seen that has the same exact system specs as far as vid and cpu. Granted this is a alienware lappy, but theres going to be very little difference bewteen them considering it is damn near the same. I do plan on doing a little proper review of it, the ones I been reading are all kinds of confusing because we have no idea what the base is coming from, ie 80%, WTF of 80% of what. thank you Black.

exactly what I was thinking. the good news is it's an IBM think pad clone. they got all the ibm research and tech specs when they bought the pc unit. and if the specs are the same as the alienware, then a few diffs in M/B design won't make a hugh diff in what you get from it (asides from not paying for the AW name)

Oh ya I forgot to mention I will refrain myself from overclocking this one, as well as try and keep it off of water cooling

I said i will try to refrain from it, does not mean I wont.......... If, big word IF, everything looks ok on temps and such I may give the GPU a boost. The CPU be pointless because having a locked 20 multi at 100 FSB will not get me very far especially I am limited on the BCLK. I may tweak it if I have the options though but again need to see how the temps look prior to.

Well I had to change out to a different lappy, but the one I ended up getting is not all that bad of a one. it is based off of the AMD Llano 3500m CPU with a 6750 video card for 680 USD. I needed to order a clutch for my car so that took priority.
