Phenom 9500 past the "230 fsb limit"
all over the web i read over and over that these chip buck up at 230. Mine is now at 238 (237.53 actual) for a cpu clock of a whopping 2612.8 mhz! not bad for a chip with a locked multi starting from a stock 2.2 I'm gonna check temps and see if I can coax it up to 2.8 ghz (migh have to wait on the water loop.
and for those that claim
I offer this;

After much screaming at, and bludgeoning of My bios settings, I have arrived at this;

2808mhz!!!
this is as far as I go till I get my water loop installed .My cores are at 63c up from high 30's mid 40's (IIRC) the board says the cpu is at 71c the thermal limit is 70c.
My case temp went from 111 F to 124F with all 8 fans running full tilt. (before and after)
Not bad for a chip that most say can't get past 2.3-2.5ghz.
Once the waterloop is in I'll try for 3.0-3.1. If that works I'll think about trying to apply for Dragons job as Mad Scientist/Firestarter.

I took it back down to 2.6, it was acting funny. Lower PPD on my gpu clents, one BSOD after several hrs. So i bumped up the volts a little in the cpu and the mcp and the nb but it still didn't seem right. I need to do more research. The problem is most of the posts I find say "I got this clock" but not how, or what they adjusted to get there. I do know that on this board you have to drop the HT and the NB or you get the BSOD as soon as you hit the desktop. that's probably true with all of them though. I just don't know enough about what each thing is and does to know where to throw the volts, or really how much to throw at it.

with my AMD boards I've always done like you said and lowered the ram and NB multi's to find the limit of the FSB
then when I find that limit I bump up the volts to 1.4 CPU and 1.3 NB but if your on water you may be able to throw more volts up to 1.55 but I've never gone that high. It's all just bump it up a lil test bump it up a lil more test lots of time needed and patience

see that's where that whole Homer simpson "But I want it now!" thing comes in. I want to get it up there, set it, and be done. right now I'm back at 2543, and it seems to be stable with everything on auto. i honestly don't think it will stay stable at 2.8 but at least I got it on record. I'm gonna play with it somemore but not this week i think. got 200 miles of travel every day till sat(with a 5hr wait in the middle) then I got to do the same trip sunday which will be an all day event. Family, can't live with them, can't murder them in a horrible fashion that would bring me joy.... sorry that one was for my oldest who is trying to distract me.
