    Default Running temps.

I got the 560 installed and folding. I thought these theings were supposed to be cooler than the 200 series???
At stock clocks it runs 95c, at an O/C it was over 100c and my case is no hotter than it has been for months, cooler actually by 2-3c.(from 111 f to 107 f).
560new.gif I'm a little worried cause the F@H client has already crashed once on this thing.

YIKES.... hmm get an aftermarket cooler, or make sure you have plenty of ventilation over the intake of the card.

dude this thig has a dual fan H/S on it. and now i'm even more worried after reading this
    http://www.neoseeker.com/Articles/Ha...TX_560/18.html
my idle temps are 13-14c above what they are talking about. on the SAME card. I'm gonna get ahold of gigabyte tommorow and see if reseating my H/S with new TIM will void the warrenty. if so, they will be getting the card back.

I got a feeling I'm gonna be stuck with a card that runs hot.
start at the bottom and work up.
Michael Peters [ sflblacksmith@yahoo.com ]Sent : 7/15/2011 10:06Question : this card is supposed to be SLI capable, It will be run in a case with other cards.. It is runn far too hot for what has been reported as "normal" for this GPU My nome was 24. deg C when I came home and this card was well over 100 C I have been running
    1 GTX280 O/C'd Folding
    1 GTX260 O/C'd folding
    and 1 9800gx2 O/C folding
in this case and none of them has passed 80 C. the case has 3 120mm intake fans, 2 120mm exaust fans, and the PSU pulling air out. there is more than enough air flow.

this card is supposed to run cooler than they do and runs hotter at stock clocks. too hot to use full time folding. there persons on the forum I attend have similar cards and run far cooler at higher ambient temps.
    Answer - 1105458

    Answer : Dear Customer,

at default spec is within range, on a full load is slightly high but is still acceptable.
Do make sure that you have good cooling on your system and only test with just one card installed.
    Question - 1105458
From : Michael Peters [ sflblacksmith@yahoo.com ]Sent : 7/14/2011 01:24Question : I seem to be having a cooling problem. this card is reported to idle in the 30-40c range. It is idling at 50c. the ambient temp on the room is 21c, the highest temp in my case is 42c. and that is nowhere near the card. there are three intake fans brining air into the lower region of this case.
under full load running the Stanford Folding @ Home app the 560 hits 95c on stock clocks. with a mild O/C it hit 100c in less than a minute, at which point I shut it down and restored the clocks.
from what I see on the web these temps are far higher than I should reasonably expect.
will it void the warrenty if I remove the HSF assembly and reset it with new TIM?

the the GTX 200 series cards that have been in there do not run this hot at load. the 9800gx2 in there doesn't run that hot either.

Attached is a GPU-z screenshot showing the clocks, and usage. let me knoiw if there is any other information you need.

Solved. i got to thinking, what if running by itself the card ran cooler, that wouldn't help me much but it would solve the over heat. so I got to looking at the setup and realized it was pulling the heat straight off the back of the 280's gpu without enough room to get cool air. if you run one of these in SLI with a full cover reference card, put this one on the bottom. the plastic cover will come too close to these fans to allow them to work. and without that cover on it this card allows more room for the reference design to pull airflow if the reference card is on top, than it would over another reference card. is that too confusing?
    any way check this out.
560fixed.gif I'm bumping it up till it either EUE's or overheats. trying to get 10K or more PPD from it.

I gotta say I am impressed with the response time to my ticket. alot faster than XFX ever was. and the guy(s) was/were very professional in their attitude.
As soon as iget a couple days folding with no errors I'll add this puppy to the list.

Glad you fixed the problem. Was gonna say OCed my 465's don't go over 80C and your 560 should be running alot cooler than my cards and 280s. 280s where hot beasts. (wish I still had mine)

the 560 is running fine, O/C @ 925/1850 mem@ 1054, 94-99% gpu load, 80c. the A/C is acting up a bit so the house is at 21.5c instead of the normal 20c. my case shows 40c at the hottest point. since this card can handle 100c (or so they said) I'm gonna call 80c good to go.
