Help!!! Screen Freaking
My 30" Dell 2560x1600 monitor is freaking. I have (2) GTX 285 in SLI. I tried each individually with no change. I tried each in each slot individually with no change. I plugged my 24" Dell 1920x1200 in and it works fine. Could my video cards just be failing and not be able to drive the 30"? Do you think the monitor is failing? My old PC (NVIDIA Gforce 9700 GTX 512MB) probably will not drive it so I can't check it there. Any suggestions?

I went thru hell trying to figure out why my vid cards were blacking out. then i finally realized it was my monitor. if the max res on a card is = or > the screen it will drive it. it takes no more power to send the signal to a 25 inch 1080p than it does to send it to a 15 inch 1080. I would try any other card on the monitor to see if the problem moves with it or not.

Why not try a new cable too and see if maybe just maybe it might be going bad.

Sounds like the monitor is toasted. But like others suggested try a different cable.

From the pictures that is not a vid card issue it is your TV. It is not able to process your signal correctly. It could be a cord but I have seen this before and it was the TV's fault.

Dell sent me a new U3011 monitor as a replacement under warranty. Nice of them to send a new model that is 2 generations newer. It is very nice. I believe it has better color gamut. I love it so far other than my old one had a CF slot and this one doesn't.

lucky you. My trusty 24'' gateway monitor is giving me problem where it will not turn on until I press the on/off button for like a billion times. It turns out that gateway uses some crappy caps on the monitor. Too bad that gateway has such a sucky warranty.
