    Default 24\7 and power bills.

My roomate is of the opinion that the sudden rise in the power bill here is due to my system folding 24\7. I have tried to explain to him about leganfuh's folding farm and it's power consuption. I have told him that my system was going 24\7 long before this sudden upshot, and that something else must be causing this. so to prove it I will only be folding part time for now. sorry for the points loss, but some people are dense and need to be clubbed with the truth before thay will except it.

you've been folding 24/7 for months your power bill couldn't of gone up that much with the addition of the 560

It would have been the second psu, but the bill went up (some) before that. and after doing the math My system is about 1/3 of the of the draw here. figuring on a ball park of 1250 watts per hr, that's 30,000 w/h per day so 30Kw/h a day multilpied by 30 days is 900 Kw/h out of 2616 is 1716 for everything else. I need a kil-a-watt meter to see what I'm really drawing. I honestly don't think I'm pulling as much as that fo what I'm runing but I don't know for sure. i do know that $304 for the month is ridiculous for the amount of power we're using. Bandits....

Actually, when plugging in those numbers I get 11.6 dollarcents/kWh which after conversion is 8 eurocent/kWh which is the exact same price as over here. I can't speak for the US, but you're on par with the price in Belgium
But yeah, that still doesn't make it cheap..

Electricity prices have been rising, especially with such a hot summer. The demand for energy is high, and the amount of energy is low. I doubt your rig makes a significant dent in the power bill.
