Default Deus Ex: HR averaging 9/10, but this review may be more accurate:

The GameTrailers.com review of Deus Ex: Human Revolution. It's less glowing than those of most other sites, but might be more realistic. http://www.gametrailers.com/video/review-deus-ex/719502

Blocked. I already played a lot of it and I think it's going to be great.

The video was viewed by people who caught it as soon as it was upped apparently and is still in your cache. This is what me and a few other people I sent the link to get.

    I just took that btw.

If you find another one feel free to link. I haven't touched this game yet since I'm going through Stalker again but I like to watch the vids of it.

Well I just got the game yesterday and played a fair bit last night up through the first boss fight. I have to say although at first I was enjoying sneaking around knocking guys out with the non lethal melee attack and hacking through the lower level security terminals, in many ways the game is not as good as I'd hoped.

They have some advanced graphics settings, but the textures look a bit underwhelming. It's also not that well optimized, hitching here and there in transition areas a bit like the FEAR games, and I don't even have any post effects, AA, AF or Vsync on. I'm going to try setting AF to 8x just to see if it improves textures a bit, but I doubt it will make much difference, because it's the close up textures that need improvement.

The geometry even sucks on lots of items. For example bicycles are poorly drawn and open paint cans have octagon vs round shapes. Some of the audio is not that good either. If you're farther than 3 or 4 feet away from the huge TV in Adam's apt, you can't even hear the sound, and it seems to come from only the left side of the screen.

One of the most annoying things is the AI seem crazy in this game. At times super alert, at other times clueless. That said, they certainly kept some of the style and feel of old DE, although in some ways perhaps overly so. The friggin cardboard boxes are EVERYWHERE, to the point of being nonsensical and annoying.

I've only just begun for the most part though, so I've not experimented much with upgrades and augs except for an armor piercing upgrade on the pistol and hacking enhancements. It's hard to figure some things too, like I haven't even been able to find out yet how you expand your inventory capacity to all slots. There's lots of routes, but some seem pointless, depending on how you tackle the missions.

It seems if you don't take tasks on in a certain order, you can wind up with enemy AI standing guard where they weren't before, even if you haven't tripped any alarms. This can suddenly make what WAS an easy exit, now a difficult escape without using advanced stealth, cop killing or mad dashes that may get you killed on the higher difficulty levels.

The enemy AI clearly don't investigate even seen suspicious activity very well. You can run in front of a guard into a bathroom, where he'll enter and search it minimally, but only pop open a stall door and not even look in. You can hop over a balcony railing in front of numerous cops, take an elevator down and there will be a couple guys on the lower floor hearing the elevator open, but they won't even go search it.

In the stealth tutorial they CLAIM the AI are sight and sound wary, but I find they're mainly line of sight scripted. It's only when they actually see you that they'll come looking. What's worse is sometimes one or two WILL come looking if you so much as run, sprint or jump from around a corner, most of the time I find they don't though, so it's very inconsistent, making you labor through trial and error and repeated save loads. I'm guessing this is one of the main reasons they quickly got a patch out to speed up the load times quite a bit.

If you don't have enough stealth gear or augs you're basically stuck trying to visually or audibly lure one guard at a time to knock them out unless you want to go in guns a blazing with no morals, and from what I've seen, there's no tranq pistol, just a tranq rifle, so distance stealth takes up lots of slots as far as stealth gear. Next play through I'm going to go for a cloaking aug early on, but that can leave you unable to hack level 3 terminals for a while, which is the only way to get some of the intel easily.

I've not played enough of the game yet to have an overall opinion, but as some have said, there are noticeable twinges of a consolized port here. I'm not yet convinced it's earned it's 9/10 average rating. I can't help but think much of the appeal of this game is people enjoying sneaking around getting story tid bits a variety of ways and the overall style and atmosphere of the maps and music, which isn't bad. Whether it's enough to warrant a 9/10 is personal preference entirely. Personally I expected more polish than what I've seen so far.
