Flashing the 6970 has...
Been a complete and utterly a failure. I been trying to flash the 6970 video cards on my computer to higher clock frequencies, because while I am on Crossfire configuration I am limited to a mere 950/1450 Frequencies. When in fact I know each card is capable of reaching 1000/1550 As I did that once or twice before. The memory on these cards is rated at 6000MHz operation, divide that by 4 we get 1500MHz. But for some odd reasoning AMD limits the freqs to a 1375 ?????
Back to the point, if I try and bring the clock frequencies up past the 950/1450 mark I get BSODs, I tried MSI afterburner (by using I accept this and that BS) and by flashing the cards with a modded BIOS. The only reasoning I can come up with is that AMDs Power Play BS is causing us all kinds of issues when it comes to overclocking the cards while they are in crossfire mode, because when we on Desktop the "Slave Card" is kicked down to a 150/150 MHz and remains there till a 3d application is activated. Because when we are using 1 card there are no slave card to kick it down, and then all we have to contend with is the Power play on a single vid, which is easy to deal with. Any ideas on how we can circumvent AMDs power play feature while the cards are in crossfire configuration? get past this, we will have limitless power, plus the ability to use voltage.Mini Me...
