I actually liked the gameplay of BF3. However, this game is going to be a mess at retail. The beta build was one month old but even with two months, there are just so many problems. They've announced a 1-day patch but even then....
I'll be trying out the other 3 maps next Friday so I'll chime in on how those actually feel.

Well I hope they will have some fix for triple monitor setup gamers with 1.5GB cards as there is no way I will be upgrading to 3GB cards just to play BF3, and playing it on one screen is kind of eh... would be more fun on 3. I found the game fun to play but had some performance issues which I hope Nvidia will fix in their final BF3 drivers that will come after the BETA. Most of the time the BETA played fine, but every once in a while it just lagged a lot with even three GTX 580s. Bad optimization at the moment.

Take in to consideration that they were fixing things the whole time and did not want to waste time implementing fixes to the beta. They also had a closed before that where they had time to fix even more bugs. I don't think it will be perfect on release (no BF game is), but I don't think it will be as bad as some people think. Another thing to remember is the fact that they claim the beta wasn't full graphics. If you had problems now, then you will probably have more problems with the retail.
