Battlefield 3 - Retail Copy
So what do you guys think so far. Do you guys enjoy the non-BETA full retail copy? i can definitely see a few bug fixes that were still present in the BETA, though they still need to fix a few bugs for multi-monitor gaming since lots of the flares are way too bright on 3 monitors and they are also stretched. I haven't had much time to play but so far looks exciting!

Haven't had a chance to play retail yet. Did they spruce up the graphics or was that just a beta rumor?

I fired up BF 3 last night and have only played sp so far. Can anyone that has the game tell me if you're having problems with hitchy movement when near the squad AI? If I so much as get within 15' of them, the movement gets very choppy. Further away it's fine. This is not a frame rate issue. It hums along at 35-40 FPS with auto detect settings enabled and doesn't lag. I also updated to the BF 3 recommended 285.62 driver.

I'm not on the newer driver and I don't have that problem. Only thing I see wrong so far is the AI just walk through walls. I have only played about 10-20 minutes worth of the game before I had to leave today though.

Someone on the EA BF3 forum said the previous driver had no hitchy movement but shadow problems, and now with 285.62 shadows are very bad on many objects. I seem to have both problems. I am not however having severe hitching when moving far away from AI like some are.
I found a directx folder in the game files, which updated the DX though. Previously when trying to DL the latest version on the DX Runtime site it said I had the latest. It seems to have smoothed it out noticeably, but still hitchy in spots.
I also found a 2 month newer driver for my Realtek HD audio, so the minor 1 to 2 minute dropout I got the first run through may have been due to that. I'll have a better idea when I finish this 2nd play through. I may try rolling back my video driver before starting a run on Hard.Last edited by Frag Maniac; 10-27-2011 at 10:48 PM.

I've noticed how annoying the light glares are.
Also, does anyone else have a problem with splotches staying on the screen forever during the SP?Turd
