bf3 is not starting at all.

after installing the battlefield 3 on my Q2C, it's not starting and giving following error:

Battlefield 3 has stopped working.
check online for solution
close the program.

Q6600 Q2C 2.4 (no OC)
4gb ram

windows 7 x64

these are minimum requirements for BF3 but it should atleast run.

the only thing I could find is a very similar post in arabic. and it has no solution either. is there a patch availible that you could try to apply ?

OMG your GPU driver is ancient. The first driver that worked well for BF3 on older cards is the 285.79 beta. The new 290.36 may work OK too though, haven't played BF3 since installing it. I have a GTS 250 1GB based on the 8800. I had shadow corruption and stuttering before using 285.79. After installing it I had no such problems and I got a bit of an FPS boost too.

I had this exact "APPCRASH" BS with MW3 and unfortunately I couldn't find a way to fix it Updating my display drivers didn't help either.
