    Default Hard drive problems???

So Im using the SSD I won, well today my comp BSOD and I reinstalled windows after nothing working that I could think of with processor.

Being in IDE for my Hard drive I can boot, anything else it wont.

I then find out, I can not install Intel rapid storage technology again because it says my computer is not compatible, Was trying to so I could use the SSD For caching.

I go into bios to go back from IDE and put it on ACHI atleast first to see if that would work first, and then I get the same problems, BSOD, so Im stuck in IDE on my sata HDD, and I guess my SSD is now broke??

I cant tell what so ever and kinda making me go ??????????????????? EHHHHH

I couldnt even get it into the raid format for the HDD to work with SSD for caching I get the same problem.

The problem makes it BSOD VERY FAST cant see error, but it always happens during the little windows logo in the black background.

    Any Ideas?

Just wiped the SSD as well as far as I know how to do it, and tried again, still same problems even with fresh install of windows, Maybe my HDD broke for ACHI? Since I cant use anything but IDE (This is for the main Hard drive I got windows installed on)

process of elimination. can you load win on another HDD and try to boot it?
    system specs please?

Dont have another HDD to try it on, unless I use my SSD, wich I dont think will be able to give me a good example due to its a SSD compared to my HDD that apparently can run in IDE as a newer model wich is weird.

Mobo is z68 ud3h-b3 from gigabyte
    G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL8D-8GBXM

    2600K PROCESSOR
Western Digital Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

    And the OCZ vertex 30GB

Well, I got really pissed off here, and took it to hardware setup...

I switched the ports around for my ssd and HD opposite of what they are so my HD is where my SSD was and my SSD was where my HD was, Now it works again... So Im thinking I fried the sata port I had my HD on...Lol

    So works for now!

Sucks I couldnt get my Marvel ports to use SSD Caching, thats a Huge dissapointment on this mobo atm, cause I only have my two ports atm for sata 3 and 3x sata 2 and 2x marvel sata 3, so yea... Guess I gotta hope No more problems, or I tossing the board out the window in frustration. (no lie).

Was really hoping it was not my processor at least =).

Honestly, I thought z68 was not supposed to have dieing sata ports, Didnt they learn from p67's?

Ofc I will most likely have a problem in a week or two though again, and gigabytes going to be hearing from a angry A-hole, because they obviously dont like to help right away on their support tickets.

The funny part too is, last night, I backed up my main game I play, My music, and tedious files, cause something was wrong, i was uninstalling a program, and it said it was still installed yet it wasnt, nor was any programs that find the hidden files found anything, so thank god for me thinking ahead of time right before it happened this morning haha.

Funny thing too, I updated yesterday all the updates and it happened lol. Im about to tell microsoft they owe me a new computer. XD, did my fix, Fix ur comp josh? as in just moving the SSD and HD around it seems, so you can log back in without reinstalling hopefully on ur end? because I got Highly frustrated, Im afraid to even update windows right now atm...

Also I dont ever remember seeing "Loading Operating system..." before the logo now, as well as when i was messing with it in other ports I was getting "loading Operating system............................................ ..............." then it boot as well. But I guess its better then knowing something it completely broke hah.

due to win 7 labeling the dirves with their letter, a clone of my boot drive showed up as not genuine. perhaps to do what you want to do and use 2 drives to make your own hybid drive, you have to start with a clean load and do that from the start.

I did do that? over 20 times, and I did that from the start as well when I installed the ssd for caching.

Not trying to be rude btw, its just you just sounded like windows support there for a moment and I wanted to shoot you in the head no lie, lol.

I know most of the basics, but this was purely either windows fault, or I killed a sata port halfway on my mobo, either way im fine where it is now atm. Cause like I said if anything imma chuck it out the window next time.

    Please let me note again...

I Had my ssd Successfully as my cache drive for over 2 months almost, I also Reformatted my Ssd and HDD before I reinstalled windows Again on when I had the problem I stated about Sata not working and even though its on a sata cable my HDD would only work in IDE, NOT MY SSD, MY HDD WOULD NOT WORK. So i switched ports arounds, reinstalled windows, And waallah it worked.

Let me state again not being rude its just how I type and seems like a d-bag haha.

I've learnd to filter most of what you post and look for the pertinent info. I must have mis understood your OP. but just having had the drive letter issue i thought i'd let you know incase you were not aware. and yes, when you first came to the forum I thought you were a D-bag as you put it... I've learned better since. :D

Yea my typing sucks I literitally type what im thinking, its a bad habbit or actually its a bad way of typing XD.

I mean the most utter respect it just how I type it its better I type it the first way then type it again and end up making it even worst XD.

And also I have a bad thing of CAPSING THE IMPORTANT STUFF AND MAKING IT SOUND LIKE IM YELLING AT YOU!!!!!

    XD

If anyone can make someone understand feelings through typing I think it would end up being me lol.

I was just hoping it was not my A: processor, B: Hard drive (my hd was like 90$ now its 350$ on newegg due to the flood) and C: nothing expensive more then 100$ haha.

Because My bday is cming up Monday on 12/12 and yea, just what I need as usual more crappy bdays. XD
