Display is not coming

My computer shutdown automatically.
Later I tried to switch on the machine again but it (CPU) gave 1 long beep and then 3 beeps.
On monitor, it shows that it's trying to find signals (showing HDMI - Digital - Analog) and then monitor goes to standby.
Open the case and found that display card's (8800GT) is stopped and its not working at all.
Remove card and clean it. Still fan was not moving. Clean fan properly and used WD40 and fan started working now.
Placed card back and cabled. But still machine is coming up but there is no display. CPU is still giving 1 long beep & 3 beeps and monitor still showing HDMI - Digital - Analog.
I wonder if GPU is dead!!! But how come fan is working. Do i need to buy new GPU now. Pls help.

If the motherboard has a connection for a video card (onboard video) try it. If it doesn't, see if you can borrow a card long enough to try that. This is the only way to tell before buying a new card. the beeps are the motherboard telling you something is wrong.
Without knowing what company made the BIOS for your board, there is no way to tell what the beeps actually mean.

cpu: c2q 6600
gpu: 8800gt
mobo: asus p5q
audio: using creative audiog 2 for 7.1
4gb ram
320gb c:
2tb d:
lg dvdrw
it's not under warranty as it ran fine for 3 years. i wonder why mobo didn't give any warning. like whenever gpu was getting over heated, mobo used to give beep. and if it shutdown when gpu is dead then it should shutdown when gpu was getting over heatup.
i don't have any manual since this machine was assembled 3/4 years back. i can't find anything immediately.
i am not in position to buy any expensive card now. could u please suggest what DX11 card can be fit on my mobo now.

Not sure of your case size but a small HD5770 or HD6770 should be cheap and is DX11.

According to the ASUS website you have an AMI BIOS, these are the codes for AMI. Any PCI-E card will fit your M/B. I suggest you make certain that is the problem before replacing it.

Note: AMIBIOS beep codes are short, sound in quick succession, and usually sound immediately after powering on the PC.
1 BeepA single beep from an AMI based BIOS means there has been a memory refresh timer error. The solution is often to replace the RAM in the computer.

2 BeepsTwo beeps means there has been a parity error in base memory. This is an issue with the first 64KB block of memory in your RAM. The solution is usually to replace the memory.
3 BeepsThree beeps means there has been a base memory read/write test error. Replacing the RAM usually solves this AMI beep code.
4 BeepsFour beeps means that the motherboard timer is not working properly. A hardware failure with an expansion card or the motherboard itself could be the cause of this beep code.
5 BeepsFive beeps means there has been a processor error. A damaged expansion card, the CPU, or the motherboard could be prompting this AMI beep code.
6 BeepsSix beeps means that there has been an 8042 Gate A20 test error. This beep code is usually caused by an expansion card that has failed or the motherboard that is no longer working.
7 BeepsSeven beeps indicates a general exception error. This AMI beep code could be caused by an expansion card problem, a motherboard hardware issue, or a damaged CPU. Replacing the faulty hardware usually fixes the cause of this beep code.
8 BeepsEight beeps means that there has been an error with the display memory. This beep code is usually caused by a faulty video card. Replacing the video card usually clears this up.

9 Beeps
Nine beeps means that there has been an AMIBIOS ROM checksum error. Literally, this would indicate an issue with the BIOS chip on the motherboard. However, since replacing a BIOS chip is sometimes impossible, this AMI BIOS issue is usually corrected by replacing the motherboard.
10 BeepsTen beeps means that there has been a CMOS shutdown register read/write error. This beep code is usually caused by a hardware issue with the AMI BIOS chip. A motherboard replacement will usually solve this problem, although it could be caused by a damaged expansion card in rare situations.
11 BeepsEleven beeps means that the cache memory test has failed. Some piece of failing hardware is usually to blame for this AMI BIOS beep code.
