Default Failed Results with Latest F@H Update

Cleared out my old F@H software on my machines and updated to the latest version.

    Some issues have cropped up:

My machines running a GPU and SMP: SMP runs 100% of the time but the GPU will fail to update after it submits a successful run. Both are Win 64.

My machines running only a GPU: Work 100% of the time. Both are Vista 64.

At a loss. Is it the OS or the combination of SMP and GPU? I did remove all roaming information etc.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Is this a console setup? if so get the latest Fah gpu tracker and try it. it will setup what ever you have (hardware) so it works. if it's using the new v7 then I suggest you goto the stanford folding forum as this is a public beta and they are still working out a few bugs here and there.

Just regular machines. That is probably what I am going to have to do. I should be around 40,000 ppd but getting just about 1/2 of that right now.

I was talking about the softare setup when i said console. you know, the manual installer of version 6.xx where it has the dos box. you might also run GPUZ and check the clocks on your cards. see if one is downclocking.

This will sound stupid, but with Win7 and the new Nvidia drivers, you have to turn off the power saving feature of turning off the monitor. It seems to be worse on SLI machines. You could search http://foldingforum.org/ with the exact error that you are receiving.
BTW, Client V7 is but a front end like GPU Tracker. V7 runs the same cores except for core_16, which can only be run on V7.
Check out this thread: http://foldingforum.org/viewtopic.ph...ffffff#p209065 This is where I got my information from.

AH! That’s what I get when I respond before I have my morning coffee. I used to install via the dos box but there are times when I need to access the computers for video editing and I need to quickly shut everything down for several hours or more. I like being able to control the program quickly or have someone else do it if I am not available.

Thanks for the tip. Never thought of that. I have two machines connected to a KVM with one being Vista and the other Win7. I will try it today and see.

I know v7 is a client control app. but how it handles them is slightly different, and some of the problems poeple have had on the folding forum have been due to how it set up their folding.
But yes the "put the monitor to sleep" function will cause the client to fail repeatedly and go into sleep mode. It amounts to "one unit" mode as it will finish the WU it has going, but the next WU fails. I had to set mine to never turn off to solve this.
That is not exactly what pablo is saying is happening to him. He's saying it doesn't D/L the next unit (or thats what it seems to say).
SO it's back to you Pablo. a bit more specific info?

I was having the same problem with my 460 folding. For some reason the latest drivers are conflicting with F@H and windows power saving features. When the monitor is put to sleep by windows, nvidia tried to put your GPU to sleep also when it goes idle. Disabled monitor shutoff and all works well.

Fellas. I think the "put the monitor to sleep" issue was the cause. Fingers are crossed though. Made the necessary adjustments and watched my trusty gtx 285 fold, update and fold again. I will check again tonight and see if my numbers are where they should be.

    Thanks for all the help!

One other interesting item: On one of my machines I use pretty pathetic 520 gt to run dual monitors. Just noticed that it was folding as well - 1.8 days to complete. Not to go too far off onto a tangent but I removed that sucker from one of my HTPC's because it was not as good as the onboard HD2000. Why was that thing even built?

for people who need "A" video card period. it's the bottom of the barrel offering. there is nothing lower on the scale.
It allows consumers to get a card that can do 3D for screensavers, and run Areo, if their onboard craps out and they happen to have a pcie slot.
