Can only get 137gb of 320gb

Got a gateway 3040gz, drive died, stick a new 320gb western digital. Tried to partition it outside of the laptop amd slap it in but once windows installs it just blue screens at boot. Try to do in the laptop u only get 137gb. Tried using multiple partitions to get around it again blue screen. So decided to do some research. Looks like i have an 855 chipset and can probably install intel application accelerator and be able to get the remaining space in windows. Again no go says i don't have the driver. So maybe i can get DDO installed to get around it but no hard drive vendor supports it any longer.

woops almost forgot there is no bios update and looks like the m210 laptop is pretty much the same thing but that hasnt helped me but maybe that info can help someone to help me lol.

So now i turn to the great minds here i know the collective minds of bjorn have the power to help me solve this.

NVM got it solved paid for some software by ontrack.

I looked at the gateway site when you first posted this, that was less than helpfull. Did you find out why it can't see half the drive?
