building an ivybridge rig?
Hi guys.
I've been thinking about perhaps moving to a new chipset with the new ivybridge cpu's coming out.
I'm considering
Core i7 3770K
Motherboard
16GB Ram
and the rest im just using old parts.
I need a lot of ram because i have a lot of plugins and all sorts of thing going on in the software i use.
I want to keep the budget low as possible and I'm not sure how i can make this build cost efficient.
Thanks

Dumdum,
I am surprised no one here has responded (and that I missed your post). I am looking to do the same so I can use my current machine as a dedicated Folding Machine. I don’t know how they do it, but every once in awhile, Cyberpowerpc will offer basic systems at prices lower than what you can build. I am guessing it is volume purchasing. The 3770k is out of stock at The Egg right now. If it is not a rush, I would wait. Time will be your only cost-effective measure, unfortunately.BBQASUS P8Z68-V PRO; i7 2600k @ 4.1GHz; Kingston HyperX 16 GB @ 1866; Mushkin Enhanced Callisto Deluxe 90GB SSD with Win7 Home Premium 64bit; OCZ Vertex 2 SATA II 2.5" SSD 60GB - Programs; 2 WD 2 TB Caviar Green RAID1; WD 2 TB Cavier Green in external USB3 case;EVGA FTW 670 GTX; Acer 22 inch Widescreen; PSU: Ultra 4x 1050
