Default Should I RMA my GPU card

My Gigabyte GTX480 started acting up, system freezes during boot, after boot, few min after boot, gpu led lights up sometimes. At first this was random and i thought it was a HD going bad, disconnected it and it was fine for a few days but now it came back and is happening all the time. I removed the card and cleaned it and it still persists, I replaced the card with another gpu and everything works perfect, I also swiched arround power cables to see if it was a power issue and it wasn't, tried different drivers with no avail. Temps on the "faulty gpu" are 40-60 when these lock ups occur so it cant be overheating.

Should I RMA it? or is there something i missed here?

Oh hardy har. At least his 480 works. I could probably do a bake on it and have a working card instead of this POS 5850.

Yea, if you can RMA the sucker. Sounds like something is getting ready to fail at any minute.

Thx, just got an approval for the rma. I'm wondering what they will send me back as i never dealt with Gigabyte before. As for getting a 680 for xmas I'd love nothing more but no $$ atm. Was thinking of doing a build with the new AMD A10 to replace my Intel E8400, any thoughts on that?

Depending on what that rig is used for it will be a nice upgrade.

Gigabyte usually has crap customer service. You'll be lucky if they send you a 570 back if they have some in stock.

Worst case Refurb 480 (usually has heat issues)

    Refurb 570 or returned 570

Their return policy says replacement of equal performance or better. That's not always the case you can get a faster GPU chip but less memory.

    HA HA HA

WORST CASE EVER those CS sent back the same card back to me " as if fixed"
It was in an idle system for less then 2hours and it crapped out!!!!
Put it in a different rig after it cooled and BAM worked for 5 min and CRAPED out all lights flashing.
Now i have to go through technical support to get another RMA.

    This is BS support

I have to chime in also. I do not buy from Gigabyte any more due to their RMA and customer support. I sent them a board for RMA. Power on the sata ports was gone(burned a part right off the board). It would see the controller but would not talk to the drive. Sent it to Giga they said they fixed it. Sent it back and it still had the burnt piece and they said that the drive I was using was probably faulty. I still have 5 GigaMobos in use. Hope they last cause there is no good hope for an RMA from them. Sad, but I am sure ASUS loves all the business they get now!

I'm actually building a friends HTPC with the A10 CPU. It's going to be used for watching movies and some light gaming like SC2, D3, and TF2. I'll let you guys know how it performs when he buys it.
