AMD A10-5600k with raedon 6670 or gtx280

Quick question to the guru's as I am hard pressed for time trying to figure out what the hell is Windows 8.
Will the crossfire of the AMD A10-5600k with a raedon 6670 be better than the cpu with just a discrete gtx280 card?

I'm pretty sure the standard CPU with a GTX 280 would be a better option over the AMD trinity option with the AMD 6670 card(s). Though I haven't played around with Trinity, so I'm probably not the best person to ask, but that's just my opinion. Maybe Victor can give you a better idea on this, but I'm pretty sure a GTX 280 would have better performance graphics wise.

Peter is right here. GTX 280 would be a better choice here if you are going to be gaming. Crossfire the 6670 with the IGP would only allow you play games at 1680 resolution. Even if we consider the addition of the 6670 to give us twice of the performance, we probably are still not able to have the same level of result as what the GTX 280 can deliver.

We ran a few CrossFire benchmarks when we reviewed A8-3870 http://www.bjorn3d.com/2012/01/amd-a...edition-llano/. Trinity would offer slightly better performance but we do not expect it to give us the same result as a GTX 280.

one 280 gtx suck more power than 2 6670 but do better than 2 6670 horsepower wise

i guess it depends on what type of game you would be playing and also your budget. If you already got the gtx 280, then don't waste money for the 6670. If you are looking for amd build and need a discreet card you can consider the FX-4300. That chip is essentially the same as A10-5800 and you will pair that with the AM3+ chipset which offers more pcie slots. It will potentially also have higher oc headroom as well since there's no GPU on the chip and also it is rated 95w. Something to htink about.

If you're going for a new system I would always go with a single more powerful card over a crossfire or SLI setup. I am using an SLI setup just because I need to deliver high performance on three monitors when I game at 5780x1080, since one single card, unless you're running GTX 690, would not be able to deliver enough performance to make newer games run smooth maxed out.

TF2 on regular basis, UT3 and fallout on ocassion thats all the gaming I need it for.
Would just like the system to be snappy in boot times and moving between applications, be able to playback video at 1080p on a 27inch monitor or TV.
Budget 200$ cpu+mobo+graphics

Honestly, the IGP should be able to do all that by itself if you are fine with lowering settings here and there. If you already have the 280 it'll gobble all those games up.

yea but not that much off budget
A10-129$ + board 50-90$ = 170-220$

Fx-8150-168 + 54$mobo = 222$

The only reason i was considering a gtx280 is that newegg has one for 70$ and Raedons 6670 are bout the same. I have a GTX285 which I'll just use for the build, cooler and less TDP.
