yeah that TIM is really pretty good, sometimes a rebate like that is 6 of one, and half a dozen of the other to bother, Would still be free though mmmm ?? anyhooo Thanks for the link.

I've done rebates for over three years and have always gotten them. The thing with newegg rebates, even if something happens customer service will give you credit.

Would have to say the same here when dealing with any of NewEgg rebates, all were solid and good 100% of the time for.

Yeah, I have no doubt about Newegg taking care of their customers, it's just the fact that you have to get UPC code, fill out a form, mail that in, then wait. It's just a hassle for me. Not worth my time really, unless it's a big big rebate.

Would have to agree, would not jump through the hoops on this one for a single item / order unless a big rebate or big deal /saving . Last year I had purchased in Oct. I had purchased 2 Asus 24" inch screens [VH238] on a 72 hour sale with rebate, was eyeballing some 1TB WD blacks at the time and could have budgeted to get some of them too. Wished I did, because the Thailand flooding happen about a week or so later. So getting a deal on some pretty good TIM like this would have been tossing it in the order, anyways interesting discussion and appreciate the original OP again for the post since many of the sales are starting to heat up a bit early this year.

Even thou the original deal is long gone it seems the "free after rebate" deal pops up every now and then at newegg. Last one just a few days ago.

I recently had a chance to use this compound on my Corsair H100 block and a FX-8150 cpu and I was very pleased with it as the performance is quite good compared to the other stuff I have used but most of all I really really liked how easy it was to spread on the CPU (like spreading butter). This was quite a surprise as the last time I encountered such ease was with antec ceramic. Other compounds like arctic silver, shin-etsu or IC diamond were really quite hard to work with even after warming them up.

Yep! Can agree with the you about the IC Diamond being a bit hard to with, and they recommend the 'pea dot' method while applying some 50lbs of torque to spread it out(or something like that) Still would rather have a consistent, easy to apply TIM that does not dry out over time. One thing for sure I have a fx 8150 with a Phanteks TC-14PE on it and they supply a diamond particle TIM, since I had some Noctua around I used that instead since it was easier to apply and they results a very predictable for me. Similar to the Arctic may just be a tad better performance wise.
Anyhow sure appreciate the head up on the new egg catch for the rebate.
