When my daughter was two I was just starting Everquest 2 Extended, the free to play version of EQ2 which just starter. She loved seeing my character riding his horse in New Halas and seeing the bears and the lions.
Now that she's 4 she finally managed to get the hang of driving in Mario Kart Wii. She's not good enough to really play, but she can go around the track.
I plan to buy an Xbox 360 with Kinect soon. I think it will be a good way to get my kids to play.
As for myself, like the others here I don't have much time to play, and I noticed that mobile gaming is the easiest, because I'm not tied to any location and sneak in a minute or two of play while watching over my kids in the bathroom, their room, the living room, ... I recently got tired of my Motorola DEFY and went back to my old Nokia 6120c, which has quite a few games I haven't yet played. I recently finished its version of Oblivion, and I'm now playing CSI New York. (I also tried the Tomb Raider Legends and Underworld on it, but it's just not that good for action games.)

They said 3 was going to be the final game of the trilogy. The only reason they keep releasing DLC for it is because people hated the ending.
Kinect is really good for kids. At our old place our friends with kids would come over and we would all have a good time on the Kinect.Turd

Reading through this thread, I'm noticing that many of us have more important things to do than to play games. And if we can play games, it's not for the long sessions of game playing that we were once able to achieve.
We've all grown up, haha.
I hope I get to play games with my daughter as she grows up. When I was growing up, my parents had absolutely no interest in playing games with me, and I hated it. Looking back on that now though, it's obviously a generational thing.
If my daughter has as much interest in games like she appears to have now, I know this won't be the case between her and I. I'm going to enjoy spending time with my daughter as she grows up.

Hahahaha! that's the point! By now one can say there are too many games to play now compared to a decade ago. Games were so limited before to what stores can offer. Even piracy was having a hard time back then LOL. There were only a few game developers as well. Today, you really need to pick the best ones and avoid wasting your time :D
Kids before? (like when I was a kid), I would think of ways just to get out of the house and play with the neighborhood kids. Now, kids would think of many ways to get you out of the computer or hand them your ipad and play with it. LOL. Still, it's also fun to play with kids.. just be mindful of what they play.

What games would you recommend on the Kinect. I'm planning to buy Happy Action Theater and probably Disneyland Adventures (if it doesn't come with the console).
My father used to play a couple of games on my VIC 20. He was addicted to one centipede style game. But he didn't play a lot and didn't play later on on the better gaming computers. I played a lot with my little sister though, adventure games and RPG's.
Nah. I grew up copying cassettes of Spectrum and Commodore 64 games, and later on Amiga diskettes, a lot of which came from images on BBS's. There was always something to copy and tons of indies to buy at $2-$3.

We had it at release because my fiance worked for Microsoft then. So all we had was Dance Central and Kinect Adventures. We now have a few more but those two were the only ones at the time. I personally want Star Wars lol.
I have my son but I make time to do the things I need to do or want to do. I have help doing that though. For instance if I want a break to write up articles, work on my car, go catch a movie with Mariah, or have long gaming (or benching) sessions I ask my mom if she wants to watch Ezio. Right now he is still in the stage I can easily keep him out of things and keep an eye on him without really moving from my PC chair. So I can get quick gaming in and if I want grab lunch and a nap or game when he naps. Usually, I wind up passing out on the couch.Turd

I did the same. Though, many of the games that my sister liked at first she didn't like later on. After she knew what gaming was and all the different categories of gaming there are, she started exploring with MMOs and similar one player Action Adventure games that we couldn't really play together.

@ET3D
Centipede game? like this one?
I use to play that when I was a kid in a windows 3.1 PC
@ryandigweed
LOL! I was prohibited to watch the simpsons when I was a kid due to the "adult" content it has. I was limited to watching sesame street @__@ LOLWordPress Website Builder - PC Hardware Enthusiast - Content Writer - Economist - Foodie

Actually I have so many games installed...and not so much time to play them all! lol. I tried the alpha of Crysis 3. Hawken beta....Shootmania that I'm actually enjoying so much. I left Syndicate, Black Mesa and Crysis 2 on standby :D. Oh...Dirt 3 is also waiting anxiously to be played :D

ahh Dirt3.. personally didn't like it.. perhaps because I was playing alone. If you find others to play it with and it you have a wheel for it then it would be fun. Elsewhere.. it's a relatively boring game.. just cool graphics and cars but it won't challenge you or break a sweat unless you increase difficulty.

I didn't like Dirt after the first one. The mainstream and "dude" ness got to me and had to quit.

OMG, I LOVED the first Dirt game! I have Dirt 2 and Dirt 3 ready for download from Steam. I also scored a copy of Dirt: Showdown from Puget Systems

I do have Dirt: Showdown ready to be played but since dirt 3 kinda discouraged me, i never really made an effort to install it and try the game. I'm still hooked with Mass Effect 3 and would need to finish that first. I also have Max Payne 3 waiting.. anybody here who played Max Payne 3?? Is it good?

No, not yet. It's a shame too because I loved the first two MP games.
Oh, and I just remembered that I might be getting a free copy of FarCry 3 from work when it comes out
. So, that'll be another game to put under my belt of games to play.
