That was the idea lol.
Except almost any game being released is 60 bucks. I don't want to pay 60 for a SP game that only has 10 hours worth of gameplay. It's sad enough that I completed the main story of AC3 in less than 10 hours. I also did quite a few side missions as well.
There is such thing as going back to the game; that is why they invented saves. Anyways, it's attitudes like this why we pay a high premium for so little in gameplay. Developers cram pack all of it in graphics but as of lately there hasn't been much innovation on the graphics side of things either. Biggest example here would be CoD.Univac

Except that nobody is forcing you to buy that game for $60. You pay that premium for wanting to play it at release and not caring how much you pay (not shopping around). Many games are discounted a little even before release, or not long after release, by up to 25%. Wait a few months longer and you can get them even cheaper. Wait a year or two and you might get them for $10 at sales. You're just paying for being impatient.
Possibly, but let's face it, you might be complaining, but you've bought that game for full price, so you're that part of the gaming demographic which perpetuates these prices.

By the way, as for the original subject, I also played a little Crayon Physics Deluxe on my Nexus 7.

Considering I barely buy games, hardly. AAA games take a long time to finally drop. I know Halo Reach was right around 50 bucks until a few months before Halo 4 was going to be released. This was after Anniversary came out and almost 2 years straight. The only way you can get most AAA titles cheap is if you buy them used a few months after or if they just genuinely suck.
By we, I meant most people.Univac

Yes us who buy the most games and are fueling the continued growth of the market are killing games. Which is why game budgets are getting higher.
This list is a couple years old, but can you spot the only game pre-2005 game on here?
1. Grand Theft Auto IV - $100 million
2. Gran Turismo 5 - $80 million
3. Shenmue - $70 million
4. Too Human - $60+ million
5. Metal Gear Solid 4 - $60 million
6. Halo 3 - $55 million
7. APB - $50 million
8. L.A. Noire - $50 million
9. Final Fantasy XII - $48 million
10. Killzone 2 - $45 million

You apparently didn't understand what I was saying.
People who continuously buy rehashes at premium prices like CoD are the only reason why game quality is going downhill and prices are going up. One can blame piracy or economy but the figures are there that if people want the game they will buy it as you just provided. That coincides with my original point that people with the attitude "I have to play it in one sitting" ruin the gaming fun for people who have the time to play long winded games, or like to span the gaming out around their lives yet still have a full game.
ET3D was trying to say that it is my fault for purchasing the game at such a high price. I refuted with my comment pretty much saying I don't buy them at that price and that most AAA titles don't fall for a long time. My last 60 dollar purchase was BF3, and before that Skyrim. The last actual game purchase I made before that was CoD4. Those were PC, for 360 I paid 17 bucks for a used copy of FF 13-2, and 30 for a new copy of FF13 at Best Buy way after it had dropped. That is the extent of my console purchases.Univac

I wouldn't say game quality is going down, you just can't get caught up in the COD's and BF's of the world. Platformers have made a bit of a comeback with Uncharted and Tomb Raider, and interactive games such as Heavy Rain is multiple times better than anything done previous. The Last of Us is really looking like another quality title. I think one aspect you're missing is re-playability. There are so many games now that have multiple endings and much more freedom to do what you want. So while a game may only be 10 hours long there are multiple ways in which you can spend that 10 hours which really makes the game much longer. This on top of the fact that like a good movie, a good game can be revisited multiple times.

Sorry, I didn't realise you were talking console titles. I'm not that familiar with them, most of the console titles I bought were discounted Wii games. On the PC you can usually get the games with a good discount at one of the online stores (Green Man Gaming is pretty good for that these days).

Console is unfortunately ruling the gaming world right now =(
I'm currently trying to play Farcry 3. I learned that the Nvidia force res is working again so now I'm suffering lag playing it at 2560x1600 rofl. So far the game is ok and a much needed improvement on Farcry 2. The only thing I hate so far is how it takes so much to kill an animal.Univac

Playing through Assassin's Creed 3 right now, I'm loving the DX11 tessellation. Also, picked up AC Brotherhood on the weekend because I skipped it last time but Ive been on a stealth kick lately. I need to get a new display though. I play on my TV and limited to 1280x720.
Would Far Cry 3 run on an AMD PhenomÉ Far Cry 2 was gorgeous and I loved the game plus it was very optimized. I`m just not sure if it is time to move upgrade my proc+mobo now.

Did the same thing. I was just goofing off driving a jeep and ran into a few enemies, then the vehicle headed for a bridge and 2 wheels were on the bridge taking out the rail and the other 2 hanging off. I eventually rolled into the river and when I got out and started swimming got attacked by a gator. Made me scream like a little girl as I wasn't expecting that.
