The house was already painted when we bought it. The master is a green color and we painted our kids rooms chocolate brown and hot pink for my son and daughter.

I want my PC room in our new house to be solid black with black carpet and a wood area for my chair. Rest of the house, I don't care long as it isn't ugly.

Why all black?

Few reasons:
1. I like black. An all black PC room with no windows will be perfect for my ambient lighting to relieve my headaches, and perfect for my projector.
2. Easy to clean. With all black I can easily see dust that needs to be cleaned.
3. I can hot pink accent it and possibly put black lights in to mimic my old room at my parents house. Just for whenever I'm feeling psychedelic.
4. I hate white rooms. Too creepy and I can never settle on other colors.
5. Mariah wanted to do some sort of Star Wars mural for me. Not sure if she changed her mind or not.
6. Black cables + black walls = easy to hide until I can afford a magnapull to properly put them in the walls. I hate my current wall phish.
7. I keep going back and forth on a few things. Emperor black PC setup, or wall mounted glass top desk to put my PC in. I saw a really cool PC built in to a glass desk I want to mimic. With UV lighting or other LED/CCFL lighting it would look good in a black room.

How does having an all black room relieve headaches?

An all black room wouldn't have a lot of glare in it for one like a lighter colored room would.
At least James used the video card picture and not his stomach surgery picture.

How does having an all black room relieve headaches?

Black soaks in light and so therefore I have total control of my ambient lighting. My position to my monitor mixed with posture and ambient lighting I have proved to myself is the cause of my headaches if they are all wrong. Now only that, but it's the best for movie viewing and gaming on my projector. I can have a lighted area and still see my screen ok, but like with all projectors the blacks get pretty washed. Not only that, but it's a gaming room bottom line so needs to be black lol.

picture was taken by my sister's co-teacher using a DSLR camera. She needed to step way back just to get that shot LOL.
