The best 240-256gb SSD?
I am upgrading my Asus G74 laptop and want to install a SSD boot drive (240 or 256 gb). Which SSD would be best for this upgrade?

I typically recommend Samsung SSDs right now. If you can find an 830 in stock I would grab one.

Personally I have a Kingston SSD V200 Now and it works great! They are often on sale once a week or so for a decent price. I know nothing of Samsung's SSDs so I can't really comment on that. But I do enjoy my V200 and haven't had a single problem with it. It boots pretty freakin fast and I absolutely love it. I'd say it's worth looking in to :P.

The Samsung 830 is among one of the most reliable MLC SSDs you can buy right now alongside a few Intel and Crucial units.

There are a lot of great SSDs out there.
There are, as always, considerations to be taken into account, but I think that if you go with any of the following manufacturers, you'll be perfectly happy.
1.) Samsung 830. I recommend this b/c it has great performance. Also, Samsung makes all internal components which really helps for reliability as well as performance. They handpick NAND for their SSDs which gives it higher quality and performance (as I just said)
2.) Corsair Neutron GTX. Uh.... Corsair. If you really want me to elaborate, it's one of the highest-performing SSDs (although read/write speeds are only a bit higher than their Force GT drive, if you're looking for a budget drive).
3.) Intel 520 series. Again, Intel consistently puts out high-quality products. This one is extremely durable and performs great.
Good luck!
