yep Philippines is an archipelago with 7,000+ islands. Near the pacific, I think the beaches are what we have to offer. Boracay would be the most popular destination based on where the westerners go.

internet is a real pain. my American boss (who already lives here) rants about it a lot. Typical residential DSL connections only offer 1-2 MBPS. Commercial dsl connections from 5-15 MBPS which is somewhat out of reach for any average household... this is what I am using right now X___X

Speaking of games. I do download games online. But a 6gb game would take like 3-4 weeks to download. So something I just copy games from my friends with faster internet speeds xD Meet them during LAN parties... they bring their rig.. I bring an external hard drive! hahaha :P

hahahaha! stealing wifi is something common in europe and the US where internet speeds are good. A friend of mine from Greece do the same thing. He would download movies and tons of stuff from his neighbor's wifi signal hahaha. xD
even stolen wifi there was good and can reach 10+ MBPS.. Here, nobody shares wifi. Everybody here uses passwords. Besides, who would want to share a slow internet connection... you would want to HOG that for yourself xD

The connection was 1Mb Direcway (now known as Hughesnet) and I had a very large high gain antenna on my house to pick this dudes signal up. I used a laptop to hack the WEP password in his driveway when he was at work. All this so I wouldn't have to be on dial up. Thing is, my average download was somewhere around 40k/s but that was much faster then compared to the 2k/s I got on dial up. I don't condone to theft or anything, but just saying that ever since 2002 people have had passwords. I've lived in 4 apartment complexes all with passwords of some sort. Not like they keep me out lol.

I was implying the signal wasn't open. I have only ever come across one signal that was open and there was internet there. That was at our first complex.

BackTrack is good. But if you want in, you have to get a supported WiFi adapter for packet injection.

There's also WireShark and inSSIDer for other network "tools"

BackTrack is really good and simple to use. And you can boot from cd/dvd disk with no install at all, or it used to be that way haven't messed with it for a while.

These days it takes less than 5 minutes worth of Google to figure out how to crack wifi. I keep mine disabled for this reason.
