I would like to try to not get off topic but whats the point? A person would save $ if they stuck with Windows 7 instead of making Windows 8 look like Windows 7 while paying twice.
I gave the public version a try and all I have to say is I'm glad I didn't shell out the $ to pay for this crap.
In the same time frame that Windows 8 has been out Vista has a higher usage percentage which should give you a good indication of how consumers have responded to Windows 8.Last edited by werty316; 01-02-2013 at 06:41 AM.

Why So ? It became slower ?

When I will have my laptop back from RMA , i will install Win 8 Pro on my Vertex 4 & will post a video here to see if there is any sluggishness etc.
I tried to mean I only made getting the Start ORB back which was not present in Win 8.The rest of the OS is completely untouched & feels exactly a new OS should.
Sorry I don't know what do you mean by the Public version but as far as i'm concerned , i'm not noticing any problem in the Retail version. But yes , if you feel you are not comfortable using it then it's better to stick to 7.

Quirks with the OS I don't like. There are a few things I do like, but it just isn't mature yet. Finding problems I never saw in 7 like driver crashing randomly for my 580 when it never used to. Merging my server with my PC has been a complete nightmare due to the new admin privilege system being overly anal. I can't really compare it to Vista, because what made Vista terrible was the backwards direction in performance even in SP2 state. So I can't agree with Werty there, but making 8 look like 7 comment I do agree. It is pointless to pay the price to make this OS look the same as 7 when there isn't any real benefit. People talk about boot times and that is the #1 thing I hear. I'm sorry, but like I said in the other thread that is completely irrelevant to anybody with an SSD, especially on laptops. My old setup on Windows 7 booted in 25.6 seconds with an AHCI bios screen to go through and a password. I can't even piss (take a pee if that is bleeped out) that fast or walk 18ft to my fridge to grab a soda. The difference between that and say 11 seconds is the time it takes for me to scratch my balls. So as I said, irrelevant. There is absolutely no real performance benefit to gain from 8 as of right now. Games run absolutely the same as before now with better drivers.
By public he means consumer preview. What he was saying, was people are buying 8, dropping 5 bucks on Start8, and making Windows 8 look like Windows 7. With no real benefit to using the new OS you are essentially spending 140 bucks for pretty much the same thing with a matte surface. Oh, and a few incompatibilities such as some companies haven't released proper drivers yet. My Xtreme Music wont work right on 8 and I'm sure the rest of the Creative card line doesn't have proper drivers either considering Creative's lack of giving a **** to release proper drivers the instant a new OS comes out.Univac

Was going to but Norton removed the .exe right after download so kinda left it at that.
As for Win8 it's prolly the best OS for my old Core 2 Duo E8400 as the setups "perceived speed" is on par with my higher end builds. I do notice the slowdowns in some places like unpacking RAR's but overall boot up, switching between applications and media playback are quite good compared to the sluggishness I was experiencing in Win 7 and Vista.Setup:#1 Intel i7 2600k @ 4.7 GHz, Mobo: ASUS P8P67 Deluxe B3, Memory: Gskill Ripjaws 2133 2x4GB
Video card: Gigabyte 480GTX , PSU: Ultra X3 1600W, HD: OCZ Vertex 4 120GB & 1x160GB WD, OS: Windows 7 64-bit Premium,LG 4x Blueray drive, Monitor: Samsung 1ms TOC 27", Case: AZZA Solano 1000, Liquid cooling: Dual + Triple Swiftech ratiator stacked, Apogee XT block & Thermaltake P400 pump + res.

Well if this software is indeed legit then it wouldn't be flagged by any virus detection tool(even if there is the possibility of a false positive) so with that I'm putting it on the back burner.
Also concerning the original download link, hotlinking is not do-able so anyone who wants to download this benchmark app should go directly to the download page: http://www.allbenchmark.com/download

I attempted to run this program last night. It said something that it wasn't supported and it gave me a bunch of warning and error popups before completely crashing and closing itself out.
After that happened, I uninstalled the program.
