How much do one of these go for usually? And how much does the cable company usually charge you for leasing / renting the modem?

A good one like mine costs between 75 and 100. TW charges 7 dollars per month for the wireless hunk of junk.

I'm definitely not liking my TWC modem. While it is convenient that it provides both modem / router capabilities, it's not very good IMO. The internet keeps cutting out - at least the WiFi - which is an issue for me since when that happens it causes the connection to my school's iLab to cut out and I have to reload the program. Sometimes, I forget to save what it is that I'm working on and I have to figure out where I was at before it cut out.

Also - though I"m not sure if this is due to interference or just a crappy WiFi antenna - the signal struggles to get into the bedroom which is just 20 feet over. Now, I think it's likely due to interference because between the modem / router, there are at least 3 large mirrors between the modem / router and the bedroom.
