    thx,
Well I have a basic rig in the basement after parting out my most expensive components a long time ago. An E8400 on a P45 mobo and I just recently stuck a zalman LQ-310 closed loop cooler on it. It overclocked to 4.2 with no problem whatsoever so was thinking of sticking a quad core in there as the prices on 775 cpus have gone way way down. Not at the Pentium D lvl yet but getting there. The Yorkfield extreme series is still pretty pricey unless I get lucky on ebay. I'd take a Kentsfield extreme if I can find one cheap.

I was kidding, as that i5 is my backup rig.

Why not a 9550? They clock good and I think you can find them cheap now.

9550 is definitely on the menu, I'd even go with a Q6600 if price was low enough but will see what pops up on ebay. I'm not in any rush with that so can still wait.
