Not Mechwarrior but close.
This game has some really cool features that I wish they'd put into multiplayer games that are out now. I won't go into detail until someone guesses correctly because I don't want to make it too easy.

I loved that game. One of the cool things about it is the way you negotiate before each match. You wager a certain amount of money and you also decide how to handicap the match by only allowing yourself or your opponent to use certain weapons to make it fair.

Yay I thought it was that game and it was a fun game back in the day. Loved destroying other mechs and watching the parts fly; oooohh yeah.
