3DMark 06 Scores

well i just got 18,538 with everything set to default.
so i have a question i see other people with about
the same systems getting in the 20,000's what am
i doing wrong? is this score right or do i need to
change something?

That's about right in 3Dmark06 for that setup. 3DMark06 really isn't geared for SLI or Crossfire you you don't get much increase in scores from Multi GPU setups.

You can DL EVGA Precision and OC the SLI setup and get a little more but I wouldn't expect to get much past 19k in 06.

You would see a noticeable score increase from single card to SLI in Vantage but 06 just isn't geared for it.

Not so much that its an extreme, but that you only have 9800's in SLI, which is powerful but not too much. I would still overclock your CPU some more becase you would see the biggest increase in score.

I'd have to find some good tutorials on how to do it first .
I've thought about overclocking it but really don't wanna screw anything up.

With a QX you wont screw anything up. Just raise your multiplier by one, testing for stability, and adding a bit of voltage here and there. Also make sure that the temps are OK and youve got yourself a OCd 6800.

The Extreme part of your processor only means it has an unlocked multiplier.

Im saying its a bottleneck becasue of its speed. My e8400 at near 4.0ghz was bottlenecking my 9800s in SLI so i know for sure yours at under 3.0ghz is.

I get more than 20k CPU and i don't need a Nvidia card to do it like Mr. AMD over there.
