3DMark 06 Scores

Actually I've hit 30k a few times without PhysX. Hit better than 20k with some ATI cards.

I get more than 20k CPU and i don't need a Nvidia card to do it like Mr. AMD over there. Which kinda sucks, where d you go AMD?

I guess your right. I think I still have my copy of 3dmark 01. The last time I ran that particular benchmarking software was on my 6600GT AGP.

Its really hard to keep comparing scores between 06 and Vantage specialy with the SLI and PhysX problems.

I've noticed a lot of sites dropping 06, the only reason we haven't is because it's still free to the public and Vantage is a one time run and pay or delete.

I can clearly see the day when we will be dropping 06 though.

That and not everyone has upgraded from XP yet. By the time Windows 7 comes, im pretty sure everyone will be away from XP.

I don't run 3DMark06 very much because I think it's flawed. It relies way too much on CPU power for calculating the scores it gives. It's similar to the Vantage issue with nVidia PhysX, where that one thing (that's not even applicable in most games) causes the CPU score, and overall score, to be overstated by a huge margin (from 19,000 to 25,000+). CPU power doesn't have as big of an impact on gaming as Futuremark would have you believe. Even in my case, where I have massive GPU power, I'm not bottlenecked by my CPU.

However, I will also include my scores with 3DMark06 so I can add to the overall results of everybody. The following isn't my current setup. It's using my old Q9450 processor @ 3.7GHz (current CPU is @4GHz). The GPU overclocks are helping put this score as high as it is:
