Long story short, which would you think is better for overclocking? I have the UD3L, but I have the option of trading it for a EVGA 680i board. Stats are in my sig. As far as I know, P43 boards have a FSB limit of about 400, but I know 680i boards can push a bit further.
Thoughts? |

This isn't really an upgrade. If I do upgrade now, it'll be i7.
I'm not spending any money right now, I just wanna know which would be better for OCing. |

You have a UD3L board so no raid? The 680i has raid capability( cant imagine life without raid) So if I only had to choose between those 2 boards I'd go with the EVGA 680i. But like Goliath said a better board would be best GA-EP45-UD3P for awesome overclocking and possible crossfire since you have an ati card.

I see.
As Fox said, your not gaining much from the 680, but still gaining, so you might as well go with that if you have it laying around.

Go with the 680i. Every time I consider replacing mine, I come up with another reason not to.

nvidia always been stronger on memory, but you can never compete with intels all out performance when it comes to the CPU. if you can get a p45 chipset then go that route.

you might need to make sure it has the latest BIOS flashed since older BIOSes (p30 and older i think?) do not support the wolfdale CPUs.
