Driver needed for Compaq Presario Laptop for XP

Hi! My name is Lisa. I just recently bought a new laptop, model Compaq Presario F768WM. We've got most of the drivers needed to operate the computer with XP (I wiped Vista-who could blame me? hehe), except for the audio driver needed for the sound card.

Does anyone know where I can get an audio driver for this type of laptop? Also, if you don't know where I can get the driver do you know what kind of sound card is in the laptop?

One last thing, under my Device Manager I have 4 objects that still have question marks. They are the following:

1. Audio Driver

2. Base System

3. Base System

4. Unknown

Does anyone know what is needed to fix the Base System or Unkown questions? I thought maybe the "Unknown" was just something from Vista.

Download ConexantHDAudio 221_XP
Go to ControlPanel->System->Hardware->DeviceManager
Select your audio device marked with '?'.
Select Details.
Now yo can see something like:
AUDIO\VEN_14F1&DEV_5051&SUBSYS_103C30D9
14F1 & 5051 strins are "Conexant cx20561" or "Conexant HD-Audio SmartAudio 221" identification. Add the string 103C30D9 in .inf file located in
ConexantHDAudio 221_XP\XP32\WiSVHe5.inf
in a line like:
%HdAudioFunctionDriver.Hermosa5051.DeviceDesc% = HdAudModel,HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_14F1&DEV_5051&SUBSY S_103C30D9
Save and install the driver. Now the installer will recognize your hardware.

Have you tried installing the vista driver or the win 2k drivers if possible?

IF non of that works this should work but not have any sort of user interface
install this UAA driver from HP http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...s=228&lang=en/
and windows should recognize the rest of the hardware and be able to get some drivers threw windows update for it.

3. Modem Device on High Definition Audio Bus
4. SM Bus Controller

They took me all of 1 minute to find. Manufacturers website would be a good place to start.
