We have the 16GB (2x8GB) G.Skill RipjawsX DDR3-2133 (F3-2133C9D-16GXH) in our lab today, and we’re going to run it through the gauntlet. In addition to just doing a simple review of the RAM modules, we’ll also take the opportunity to examine performance differences against 4GB modules, and test how Core i7 3770K performance impacts on the memory frequency.

Patriot “Intel Extreme Masters” Edition 2133MHz 8GB Review

 

Nowadays, memory tends to be more of a battle over who can bin the tightest, as all IC’s shipping for the most part are pretty much the same. In the memory market it all comes down to how you can differentiate yourself from the same old stuff that we may see every day. Patriot has the new Viper 3 series which is what this kit is part of, and carrying the “Intel Extreme Masters” means it went through extensive testing to prove utmost compatibility with new DDR3 motherboards and XMP easy tuning.

Complete AMD 2012 APU Line Up

Mobile Trinity kicks off 2012 for AMD by incorporating the Piledriver CPU core (an enhanced version of the Bulldozer) and the updated GPU core based on the VLIW4 design derived from AMD’s Northern Island discreet GPU from the HD 6970. With the mobile APU out of the way, AMD also launched the budget APU codenamed the Brazos 2.0 and has revealed the desktop SKUs.

AMD E-Series APU “Brazos 2.0″

The lineup

A glance over AMD’s plan shows that 2012 will see a greater push for APUs. From high performance systems all the way down to everyday performance and productivity systems, AMD has APUs designed to meet users’ computing needs. After introducing the second generation mobile A-Series APU (codenamed Trinity) in May, AMD today brings us the low power E-Series edition of the APU, codenamed Brazos 2.0, and designed for very basic computing needs.
