Gigabyte’s F2A85XN-WIFI was one of the best mini-ITX board for the FM2 socket. With the release of the Kaveri (FM2+) APU, Gigabyte has updated their mini-ITX board with the latest A88X chipset. With the F2A88XN-WIFI, Gigabyte essentially retained the same overall design and the layout as the older board except it has swapped out the FM2 socket for the FM2+ so it will support AMD Kaveri and it has added support for 802.11ac. GIGABYTE announces 7 FM2+ Motherboards for the Upcoming Kaveri

While AMD has yet officially announced the release date for the Kaveri, the successor to the Richland/Trinity APU, we are expecting it to arrive before the year ends. The motherboard vendors, like GIGABYTE, are gearing up for the upcoming APU and have announced list of boards supporting the forthcoming Kaveri. According to the press release, the upcoming Keveri will use the new FM2+ socket that will also be compatible with current FM2 socket Trinity and Richland APU. As far as we know, current generation FM2 socket will not be forward compatible with the upcoming FM2+ APU. Gigabyte GA-F2A85XN-WIFI (A85X Mini-ITX) Motherboard   With only 17cm x 17 cm of area to work with, available real estate limits what manufacturers can put on a mini-ITX motherboard. However, for the Gigabyte GA-F2A85XN-WIFI, Gigabyte has done a very good job at offering what users need the most. The F2A85XN-WIFI does not come with a lot of the bells and whistles that we find on gaming boards or extreme overclocking boards. AMD Richland A10-6800K AND A10-6700 Review

Not letting Intel grab all of the spotlight, AMD has officially released the desktop version of the upgraded Trinity APU codenamed Richland. While Richland does not bring any architectural change over the Trinity, AMD is able to deliver a decent amount of performance improvements by tuning the existing chip.
