Seagte Enters Rackmount NAS

Seagate entered rackmount NAS market with the new 8-bay and 4-bay 1 U rackmoutn. The rackmount will be compatible with Windows PCs and Apple’s Time Machine. The rackmount will come with a new version of the Seagate NAS OS that has integrated Wuala cloud service and business-focused apps for PC, Mac, smartphone, and tablet. As the rackmount NAS is designed for business in mind, the Wuala apps “automatically sync files and make them accessible from mobile devices such as iPhones, iPads, and Android devices to improve empolyees’ productivity while on the go.” The 8-bay model is powered by Intel 2.3 GHz dual core processor, eight Enterprise Capacity (formally Constellation ES.3) drives, and dual Gigabit Ethernet. ASUSTOR Launches AS 3 Series NAS Featuring Powerful Multimedia Applicatio​ns

ASUSTOR launched a new A3 Series NAS that features Intel Atom 1.6 GHz dual-core processor. The NAS also equipped with 1GB of DDR3 memory, USB 3.0, Audio Jack, HDMI output, and IR Receiver. The included IR receiver turns the NAS into a powerful media player when paired up ASUS remote control to playback media stored in the NAS directly to any HDMI devices with XBMC App. The A3 series NAS will come with ASUS Data Master 2.0 (ADM 2.0) operating system. The A3 will feature 2 bay (AS-302T) or 4 bay (AS-304T) models. Thecus N5550 NAS Review

Thecus’s latest 5-bay NAS, the N5550, is designed for small and medium size businesses (SMB) or home users who need a powerful data file server to centralize all of their digital content. The N5550 Has some excellent specs on paper which happen to match our recently reviewed N4800 with the inclusion of a 5th drive bay, using Intel Cedar Trail Atom D2550 processor, 2GB of DDR3, and 1 GB of SATA DOM for the OS. Thecus’s latest 4-bay NAS, the N4800, is designed for small and medium size businesses (SMB) or home users who need a powerful data file server to centralize all of their digital content. The successor to the Thecus N4200, the new unit has much beefier specs, using Intel Cedar Trail Atom D2700 processor, 2GB of DDR3, and 1 GB of SATA DOM for the OS.
