AMD Releases New CodeXL Tool Suite (v1.6) and APP SKD 3.0 Beta


AMD released the CodeXL version 1.6 and the beta version of AMD APP SDK 3.0 for the software developers. The latest edition brings some significant updates where it brings new tools to take advantage of the AMD’s CPUs, GPUs, and APUs. More specifically, the update allows the software developers to take greater advantage of the heterogenous system architecture (HSA) and the heterogeneous Unified Memory Architecture on the AMD APUs. The latest edition of the CodeXL includes: A new tool for profiling APU power consumption, enabling developers to reduce the power requirements of their application API-level debugging for OpenCL 2.0 applications Static OpenCL kernel analysis The new power profiler is a very useful tool for software developers to monitor individual APU sub-components power consumption, effective frequency and temperature.
